博士學(xué)位候選人應(yīng)該表現(xiàn)出能掌握所選學(xué)科的知識(shí),并能綜合和創(chuàng)造新知識(shí),在適當(dāng)?shù)臅r(shí)間范圍內(nèi)對(duì)該學(xué)科做出創(chuàng)造性的實(shí)質(zhì)性貢獻(xiàn)。
A candidate for a doctoral degree is expected to demonstrate mastery of knowledge in the chosen discipline and to synthesize and create new knowledge, making an original and substantial contribution to the discipline in an appropriate timeframe.
1. 為學(xué)科做出原創(chuàng)性的實(shí)質(zhì)性貢獻(xiàn)
Make an original and substantial contribution to the discipline
通過(guò)獨(dú)立地和獨(dú)創(chuàng)性地思考來(lái)發(fā)展思想和方法;識(shí)別自己領(lǐng)域內(nèi)的新研究機(jī)會(huì)。
Think originally and independently to develop concepts and methodologies;?Identify new research opportunities within one’s field.
2. 展示高級(jí)別的研究技能

綜合現(xiàn)有知識(shí),確定和獲取適當(dāng)?shù)馁Y源和其他相關(guān)信息來(lái)源,批判性地分析和評(píng)估自己和他人的發(fā)現(xiàn);掌握現(xiàn)有研究方法、技術(shù)和技能的應(yīng)用;以適合本學(xué)科的方式進(jìn)行交流。
Synthesize existing knowledge, identifying and accessing appropriate resources and other sources of relevant information and critically analyzing and evaluating one’s own findings and those of others;?Master application of existing research methodologies, techniques, and technical skills; Communicate in a style appropriate to the discipline.

及時(shí)了解自己領(lǐng)域和相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的最新進(jìn)展;通過(guò)加入專(zhuān)業(yè)團(tuán)體、發(fā)表論文和參與其他知識(shí)轉(zhuǎn)移模式來(lái)展示對(duì)個(gè)人專(zhuān)業(yè)發(fā)展的承諾;承諾通過(guò)教學(xué)、合作探究、輔導(dǎo)他人或示范來(lái)創(chuàng)造一個(gè)支持學(xué)習(xí)的環(huán)境。
Keep abreast of current advances within one’s field and related areas; Show commitment to personal professional development through engagement in professional societies, publication, and other knowledge transfer modes;Show a commitment to creating an environment that supports learning through teaching, collaborative inquiry, mentoring, or demonstration.
