Graphite sketch of Tintern Abbey on a laid paper. The support is very discoloured and stained with a dark brown stain down the right side, but in general the media is in good condition. The sketch has been executed with heavy lines of soft graphite applied with some pressure.

The interior of the ruined Abbey with a figure on the left is described in loose graphite stokes that are characteristic of the artist pencil sketching style.
