This painting of Ben Vollers is dedicated to the Dutch abstract artist Piet Mondrian. He painted this art/work on the occasion of the 100 year anniversary of the artist-union in Amsterdam he participates, De Onafhankelijken.Mondrian itself was an important meber of the same artist-union, circa the 1920′s.
