Uncle of director Christopher Nolan and writer Jonathan Nolan. Uncle-in-law of Emma Thomas. Co-founder, with wife Kim Hartman, of production company Quinton Arts. Spent two years working in the Royal Shakespeare Company. Father of Miranda Nolan. John Nolan appeared several times in his nephew acclaimed director Christopher Nolan's works in minor roles - as a Cop in Following, as Frederick, a Wayne Enterprises Board Member in Batman Begins & reprises his role in The Dark Knight Rises. The Dark Knight Rises also has his daughter Miranda Nolan as a gossiping maid working at the Wayne Mansion.
