大衛(wèi)·蓋梅爾是英國家喻戶曉的英雄奇幻小說家，已于2006年過世。他逝世后，奇幻界成立了大衛(wèi)·蓋梅爾傳奇獎(jiǎng)，該獎(jiǎng)目前已成為奇幻界重要的獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。
