杰克·凱魯亞克（Jack Kerouac, 1922-1969），1922年3月12日，凱魯亞克出生于馬薩諸塞州洛厄爾，父母為法裔美國人，他是家中幼子。他曾在當(dāng)?shù)靥熘鹘毯凸W(xué)校就讀，以橄欖球獎學(xué)金入紐約哥倫比亞大學(xué)，結(jié)識愛倫·金斯堡、威廉·巴勒斯和尼爾·卡薩迪等“垮掉的一代”。

凱魯亞克大學(xué)二年級退學(xué)從事文學(xué)創(chuàng)作，并輾轉(zhuǎn)于美國海軍和商用航運(yùn)公司等處。1950年，第一部小說《鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)和城市》出版。1957年的《在路上》問世后，他成為“垮掉的一代”的代言人，躋身二十世紀(jì)最有爭議的著名作家行列。他還著有《達(dá)摩流浪者》、《地下人》、《孤獨(dú)的旅人》和《孤獨(dú)天使》等作品。

1969年10月21日，凱魯亞克在佛羅里達(dá)圣彼得堡去世，享年47歲。
