《王賡武自選集》分為“中國文明與文化傳播”、“早期中國與外部世界”、“移民及其敵人”、“東南亞華人”、“民族主義與儒家”等單元，收錄王賡武先生的16篇研究文章。

王賡武，1930年出生于印尼泗水，先后就讀于南京中央大學(xué)、新加坡馬來亞大學(xué)，獲馬來亞大學(xué)文學(xué)學(xué)士及碩士學(xué)位，后在英國倫敦大學(xué)亞非學(xué)院獲博士學(xué)位。1963年開始先后任馬來亞大學(xué)歷史系講座教授、澳大利亞國立大學(xué)遠(yuǎn)東史講座教授，并于1986-1995年間擔(dān)任香港大學(xué)校長?，F(xiàn)為新加坡國立大學(xué)文學(xué)院教授、東亞研究所所長。主要著作有The Naihai Trade:A Study of the Early History of Chinese Trade in the South China Sea(1958);The Structure of Power in North China During the Five Dynasties(1963);China and the World since 1949:The Impact of Independence...
